Curses are negative status effects that are given when the player collects a cursed relic, opens a Curse Chest, has the cursed start effect applied at the beginning of a run, or when certain relic effects are activated. Possessing a curse gives a chance that an enemy will be corrupted, further curses make them more common. Corrupted enemies have increased health and speed, as well as more difficult bullet patterns, they have 50% chance to drop two souls instead of one. Most curses can be stacked to increase their effect, others can only be found once.

Allergic | 13 | Status effects applied to enemies disappear quicker. | |
Clumsiness | 14 | Lowered aim accuracy. | |
Cleansing | 15 | Destroys one relic at the end of an area. | |
Blindness | 16 | Rooms are filled with darkness. | |
Protected | 17 | Enemies might spawn with protective shields. | |
High Morale | 18 | Enemies might have a damaging aura around them. | |
Masked | 19 | Traps only visible, when close or activated. | |
Parasite | 20 | Enemies might spawn other enemies upon death. | |
Explosive | 22 | Enemies have a chance to explode upon death. | |
Dangerous Package | 23 | Collecting pickups reduces your chain. | |
Broken Chains | 24 | Your chain increases slower. | |
Blinding Rage | 25 | You can't focus while in a normal combat room. | |
Confusion | 26 | Relics are a mystery until collected. | |
Hollow Chests | 27 | Chests contain less loot. | |
Mimic Treat | 28 | Higher chance for a mimic to appear and a small chance for mimics to not drop a relic. | |
Silhouette | 29 | Enemies show up as silhouettes. | |
Blood Lust | 30 | Lose HP if you don't defeat enemies quickly enough. | |
Evaporate | 31 | Souls disappear quicker. | |
Fiend Soul | 32 | Souls will take some of your soul, when vanishing. | |
Fragile | 33 | Pickups have a chance to break on pick up. | |
Bandaged | 34 | Small chance to also lose max HP when losing HP. | |
Burst | 35 | Enemies might burst into projectiles upon death. | |
Toxic Waste | 36 | Enemies might burst into a poison cloud upon death. | |
Barf | 37 | Creates a poison cloud around the player every once in a while. | |
Stagnant | 38 | Celestial weapons charge slower. | |
Broken Heart | 39 | Adds 2 corrupted HP. | |
