The Chef is an NPC that can show up like many other NPCs after the player unlocks him. The Chef is not guaranteed to be in any area, or in a run at all. You need a key to access the Chef's special room. He always gives a restorative item for free.
Gameplay
When you enter the room there is always a positive restorative item next to the Chef. This item is closer to a pickup in nature than to a relic. It can be one of the following:

- The Chef was added in the original Early Access release.
- The Chef's offered item cannot be recycled for soul.
